Damage reduction
Damage Received Decrease, also called damage reduction (DR) by players, refers to effects that reduce the damage a demon takes. This is applied at the end of the damage formula.

Mechanics
Damage reduction is applied at the end of the damage formula.
Damage reduction is additive to anti-damage reduction in the damage formula. For more details, see Damage Formula.
- Due to this, damage reduction can be directly counteracted by anti-damage reduction.
- For example: if your demon has a passive that grants -80% Elec damage taken, and the enemy party has
Botis (applies +40% damage taken), then that partially cancels your demon's passive (-80 + 40). This results in a total of -40% damage taken instead.
- For example: if your demon has a passive that grants -80% Elec damage taken, and the enemy party has
- Normal damage boosts (such as Elec Amp) cannot counteract damage reduction in any way.
Skills that apply damage reduction are usually phrased as affecting the damage the owner takes/receives, rather than the amount of damage the enemy deals. For effects that lower the damage the enemy deals, see anti-damage boost.
