Choice File

The Choice File selection menu. Remember that you can scroll down!

A Choice File is a special summoning resource that lets the user choose a 5★ demon (+ their archetype/color) from a specific lineup, which may include both fusible and non-fusible demons.

Choice Files are generally given out through events or the Shop, but some are available permanently, such as the 2nd anniversary choice file in Comeback Missions.

Deciding what to summon

Being able to choose a unit is extremely valuable in a Gacha game, so you should be very careful about what you select from a Choice File.

Some guidelines:

• If at all possible, try to AVOID choosing a fusible demon. You could just farm Magnetite and make them later - the choice is better spent on a non-fusible demon that may be difficult to get otherwise.
• Choosing a good, non-fusible demon that you don't already have should be the highest priority.
  • Rather than picking them already in their ideal color, pick them in a color that has a good gacha skill. You can then shift the color to the one you actually want, while keeping the good gacha skill.
• If none of the non-fusibles catch your interest, or if you just already have all of them, then pick a duplicate that can help with Spirit Merge paneling. Make sure that the demon you choose actually has good panels, though.
  • If going this route, pick a color that has a good gacha skill, and use a Blank Genome on the gacha skill before spiritizing the demon. This gets you more value from your summon.
• If you're actively summoning on a banner, wait until AFTER you're done there, just in case you pull something that you would've otherwise selected from the choice file. This then lets you pick something else from your choice file.

Once you've decided who you want, check the Tier List and Non-Banner Demon Tier List for which archetype colors perform best.

Common case: Special Choice File (2.5 Anniv)

Special choice file (2.5 anniv)

This file is the one most-frequently given-out through events, so it's common for people to make decisions based on this one.

Demons

Good demons to pick:

• Priority 1: Daisoujou - Acts as a Cleric (ailment-immune cleanser), which is a very important role. Pick him in Teal (to harvest Void Dark Zones for your Aura Gate team 2), then shift him to Purple.
• Priority 2: Yoshitsune - Good Phys attacker for PvE. Pick Red or Yellow, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 3: Alice - Good Dark mage that can also inflict Mortal. Pick Teal, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 4: Mot - Good support for Democalypse. Pick Yellow, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 5: Huang Di - Not a good demon, but can be turned into a strong sword for Tokyo Abyss or Battle Tower. Pick Red or Yellow, harvest the skill, then turn him into a sword.
• Priority 6: Metatron - Tanky DPS with strong support effects, such as Repel Pierce and Revive Ban. He's fusible, but is very expensive, so getting him here can be useful as a shortcut. Pick Yellow or Purple, then shift to Red or Teal.
• Priority 7: Michael - DPS with lots of support effects, such as Light attribute affinity down, buffs and debuffs for the team, healing, Evade Mortal, and Bulwarks. If paneled, he also offers speed and an extra Press Turn. He's fusible, like Metatron, but is cheaper (5+5 instead of 5+Vishnu). Pick Teal.

• Priority 1: Frost Ace - Strong Physical Ice DPS that grants team-wide Might. Very useful for Avarice 14, and in other content when paired with other Physical attackers. Pick Red, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 2: Masakado - Strong slow DPS that can inflict Mortal 3 times per battle. Pick any color (depends on which auto-buff you want), then shift to Purple.
• Priority 3: Masakado for his sword. This sword can inflict Mortal 3 times per battle, and is good in Tokyo Abyss and Battle Tower. If you do this, then make sure to harvest his skill before turning him into a sword!

• Priority 2: Uriel - Provides buffs and debuffs when running a 3-angel team. Can also work in both Fire and Light Democalypse. Pick Red or Yellow, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 3: Gabriel - Does good DPS, especially in a 3-angel team. Can also work in both Elec and Light Democalypse. Pick Red, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 4: Red Frost Ace, then shift to Purple.

Notes:

• The three angels here are core to the Archangels team archetype, so there's incentive to get all three if possible.

• This file also does NOT have the following: Flauros, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel.

This is the ONLY free choice file that offers Tenmas, so you should probably pick one of them.

Good demons to pick:

• Priority 1: Asura - Vital for farming Deceit 14, as he can trivialize the first wave if he's Teal. Pick in any non-Teal color (depends on the skill you want), then shift to Teal.
  • Alternatively, can be turned into armaments that hard-counter Physical teams: each reduces the enemy's crit rate by -60%, and the shield also counters with an AoE and buff removal when the MC is hit by a Physical attack. Get the shield first, then the sword.
• Priority 2: Indrajit - Good Elec DPS. Casts Repel Almighty Magic upon the party scoring a kill, which can counter The 10th Angel in PvP. Pick Red or Yellow, then shift to Purple.
  • Alternatively, can be turned into a shield that also casts Repel Almighty Magic, but only when the MC scores a kill.
• Priority 3: Asura Lord - Good DPS and buffer for Phys Democalypse prelim. Also helpful for challenge fights that require using Almighty. Pick Red or Yellow, then shift to Red (for Democalypse) or Purple (for using his Almighty skill).
• Priority 4: Mahakala - Good generalist DPS for Democalypse. Especially good for Fire DPS. Pick any color, then shift to Purple.
• Priority 5: Yama - Good generalist buffer for Democalypse prelim, and a good Dark DPS. Pick Red, then shift to Purple.
