Icon Poison.png Poison is an Ailment that deals damage to the target over time.

Mechanics

If a demon is affected by Poison, it will take damage equal to 5% of its max HP at the end of its action.

  • Note that this is referring to the action of the demon, not their team's turn.
  • It is therefore possible for a demon to take Poison damage multiple times within their team's turn, if that demon acts multiple times.

Poison can deal fatal damage (as in, if poison would reduce HP to 0, the demon dies. HP doesn't stop at 1 or anything like that.)

Overall, Poison works similarly to Fractional Damage:

  • Poison damage cannot be increased or reduced through most buffs, debuffs, or damage increase/reduction effects.
    • However, certain skills that specifically name Poison can increase its damage.
  • If the target has a Bulwark, damage will be dealt to the bulwark first, before touching the demon's HP. The HP of the Bulwark is not considered when Poison's damage is calculated - only the target's real HP is considered.
  • If the target is affected by Icon Fortify.png Fortify or Icon Decay.png Decay, which increase or decrease the target's max HP, then Poison will consider the post-increase/decrease max HP.
    • At max Decay stacks (effectively max HP of 1), Poison will round down to 0 damage.
  • However, unlike most sources of Fractional Damage, Poison has no damage cap.

Auto Cure rate

Each turn that a demon has an ailment, there is a chance that the ailment will automatically be cured, removing its effects.

The chance that an ailment will be auto-cured increases with the amount of turns the ailment is active, capping at 4 consecutive turns of the ailment persisting.

The auto cure rate progression for Poison is as follows:
