Bulwark is a special status effect that acts like a shield.

Mechanics

A demon with an active Bulwark will display a blue bar above their HP bar.

Each Bulwark has an HP amount. When a demon with a Bulwark is attacked, the Bulwark will absorb as much of that damage as possible, and then the demon receives the remaining damage.

  • For example: if a demon would receive 750 damage but has a 500 HP Bulwark, the Bulwark will absorb 500 damage, and the demon will then take the remaining 250 damage.

Bulwarks can absorb all types of damage received, including Fractional Damage.

  • Since Recarmdra deals damage to the user equal to their max HP, a Bulwark can prevent that demon from dying, if their current HP + Bulwark sums to more than their max HP. The Bulwark absorbs some of that damage, reducing the "real" damage that the demon receives.

The HP of a Bulwark can stack (for example: 500 + 500 = 1000), but the Bulwark's total HP cannot exceed the affected demon's maximum HP.

The HP of a Bulwark does not count as "real" HP for purposes of healing skills or Fractional Damage. The demon's actual HP is used for those calculations.

Duration Ticks

If your team has Bulwarks, the duration for those Bulwarks will tick down at the start of your turn.
