Icon Spirit Chains of Corrosion.png Spirit Chains of Corrosion, or more-simply Corrosion, is a Spirit Chain effect that lowers the target's Phys DEF and Mag DEF.

Mechanics

When Corrosion is active, the target's Phys DEF and Mag DEF are reduced by 80%.

Corrosion cannot be removed by skills that would remove status Ailments, such as Prayer.

  • Corrosion also cannot be prevented by skills that would prevent ailments, such as Icon Barrier.png Barrier.

Corrosion cannot be removed by skills that would remove Good Status Effects, such as Silent Prayer.

Duration

Corrosion can have up to 5 counts. Applying the effect will add counts, and 1 count will be removed each time the target demon completes an action (use a skill, pass a turn, etc). The effect will be removed when its count reaches 0.

Resistance

Corrosion resistance will reduce the amount of counts of Corrosion received per application attempt.

  • For example: Kuzuryu.jpg Kuzuryu reduces counts of Corrosion received by 1 per attempt. Force Ruthless Death Gale deals 1 count of Corrosion per hit, up to 3 times per use of the skill - totaling 3 attempts. Since Kuzuryu reduces counts received by 1 per attempt, he receives 0 per attempt from this skill, and therefore does not receive Corrosion at all from this skill.
