Basics

Example of Spirit Merge
  • Spirit Merge is a way to upgrade your demons. It is unlocked by clearing Chapter 1-7 of the Story.
  • To perform it, Spirits are needed, which can be gathered in several ways:
    • "Spiritize" (sacrifice) Demons
    • Obtain via Advent Quests. Advent Quests are only available for non-fusable Demons.
    • Collect Universal Spirit Shards from the Daily Quest (20) and Weekly Missions (100 in total). Note: You need 100 Shards to make 1 Spirit.
    • Item collecting events have 500x Spirit Shards (5 Spirits in total) that can be bought in the event shop.
    • Complete Hell's Park stage 100 every month for 10x Universal Spirits.
    • Purchase a limited time Spirit pack in the shop (Usually gives 100 Spirits for a specific Demon).
  • Spiritizing a Common/Clear Demon yields 60 Spirits, while a Colored Demon (Red, Yellow, Purple, Teal) gives 100 Spirits. On the other hand, creating Clear Demons through fusion usually costs half the MAG of fusing for Colored versions of them, so, for the same MAG price of one fused Colored Demon, which would yield 100 Spirits, one could get two Clear Demons, yielding 120 Spirits, although, of course, that'd require gathering twice more demons for two fusions. Thus, it's usually better to spiritize summoned Colored Demons and, arguably, fused Common Demons, while saving fused Colored Demons, which would be better sold for Karma, and summoned Common Demons, which are undoubtedly more useful for fusions.
    • This applies mainly to 1~4★ Demons, as 5★ Demons have completely arbitrary MAG costs.
    • Some 5★ Demon requires more expensive Demons to fodder than its Fusion cost, e.g., 5★ Metatron requires less than 200 kMag (both Common and Colored versions) to fuse from a 5★ Barong and a 5★ Vishnu, which, in their turn, cost around 3 MMag and 6 MMag to fuse Common, respectively, or 4 MMag and 7 MMag to fuse Colored, yielding about 10 MMag for fusing one Colored Metatron (because, for Fusion, one Demon must be of Common Archetype, so only one of them has to be Colored), resulting in 100 Spirits, which is far less than fusing two Common Metatrons for 18 MMag, resulting in 120 Spirits.
    • Some 5★ Demons require Gacha Demons as Fusion material (e.g., Beelzebub☆ requires Beelzebub (Human)), that is, the cost of Fusing, don't matter if Common or Colored, is insignificant compared to the costs of obtaining the necessary material, so Fusing one Colored version for Spiritizing is incalculably cheaper than Fusing two Common to get just 20% more Spirits.
  • Spirits are specific to each Demon (i.e., Trumpeter Spirits cannot be used to upgrade Amaterasu).
    • However, Universal Spirits can be used on any Demon, but they are very hard to get and should be used after a lot of consideration. If you can fuse the Demon, then it's generally not a good idea to be using Universal Spirits on it.
  • Before Spiritizing a Demon, please check whether it has a good "Gacha skill" (a Skill in one of the last two skill slots of a Demon). If it has a good Gacha skill, wait until you have a Blank Genome to extract the skill before Spiritizing the Demon. Please refer to Skill Transfer or more precisely to Gacha skills from 5★, if you need the list of good Gacha skills. Also, check if the Demon isn't better Fused into an Armament.

Spirit Panels

Each Demon which has Spirit Merge implemented (see below) has three or four Panels, each taking ten Steps to complete.

  • Each step gives a small bonus to a certain Stat, while completing a Panel gives a big bonus, specific to the Demon.
  • For 5★ Demons, one Step in Panel 1 costs 10 Spirits, in Panel 2, 20 Spirits, in Panel 3, 30 Spirits, and in Panel 4, 40 Spirits, so, completing all three Panels needs a total of 600 to 1000 Spirits.
  • The costs for 4★ Demon Panels are doubled, so Panel 1 costs 20 Spirit per step, Panel 2, 40, and Panel 3, 60 Spirits, yielding a total of 1200 Spirits to fully panel a 4★ Demon.
  • Panel 3 is unlocked by completing the previous two Panels, whereas you can freely switch between Panel 1 and 2 at your will.
    That means that for fusable Demons you need 6 spare - Colored - copies to Spiritize and fully upgrade that Demon.

  • For non-fusable Demons (such as the Hero Race) you can also gather Spirit through Advent Quests.
    These are unlocked after completing Chapter 5 of the Story.
  • These Quests are only available for a limited time: Ten days per Demon. (Kinda like a rotation)
  • There are two kinds of Advent Quests:
    1. Normal Quest: Refreshes daily and gives 5 Spirit
    2. Mayhem Quest: Gives 20 Spirit, but can only be completed once per Rotation.
    That means per Rotation you can gain up to 70 Spirit for that Demon.
