Overview
Battle Speed is a gameplay mechanic, which determines which party gets to act first in a battle. Since going first or second significantly affects your strategy in all gamemodes, you should always keep in mind Battle Speed of your team. This makes it a significant component of teambuilding in most content.
A demon's Battle Speed does not directly influence turn order, since turn order is only dependent on Agility and Lead-brands.
Formula
INDIVIDUAL DEMON SPEED = FLOOR100[DEMON BASE SPEED * (1 + SPEED INCREASE TOTAL)] PARTY SPEED = DEMON SPEED SUM / PARTY COUNT
This basic formula is applied for every single type of party.
- FLOOR100 = Reduces a number to the next lowest number divisible by 100, i.e. FLOOR100[18260]=18200, FLOOR[18300]=18300
- DEMON BASE SPEED = Multiply a demons Agility stat by 100
- SPEED INCREASE TOTAL = Sum up each %-speed change of the demon (Skill transfers like Speedster or Epitome of Endurance, Speed-Brand set bonus, Panels, etc.) ((Basic math reminder: 1%=0.01))
- DEMON SPEED SUM = Sum of each party members INDIVIDUAL DEMON SPEED
- PARTY COUNT = Number of demons in party
Calculation Example
This example party will assume each demon is awakened and at level 50 for the calculation.

- Surt: (92(Agility) * 100) * (1 + (-0.2(Epitome of Endurance))) = 9200 * 0.8 = 7360 -> 7300(FLOOR100)
- Mokoi: (157(Agility) * 100) * (1 + (-0.2(Epitome of Endurance))) = 15700 * 0.8 = 12560 -> 12500(FLOOR100)
- Kartikeya: (256(Agility) * 100) * (1 + (0.5(Speedster))) = 25600 * 1.5 = 38400
- Masakado: (118(Agility) * 100) * (1 + (0.5(Speedster) + 0.25(Speed Brand Set) + 0.25(Speed Brand Set))) = 11800 * 2 = 23600
- Total: (7360(Surt) + 12560(Mokoi) + 38400(Kartikeya) + 23600(Masakado)) / 4(Number of party members) = 20.450
This example also illustrates that %-based effects on battle speed are more effective on high Agility demons compared to low Agility demons, both for increasing effects like Speedster and for decreasing effects like Epitome of Endurance.
Quick Reference
This section aims to give a quick overview of things that can affect Battle Speed and a rough estimate of how much these change a full team's (four party members) battle speed. this is NOT an exact calculation and should only serve to give an inkling how much things like Speedster transfers increase a teams speed. It is always recommended to do exact calculations before making major decisions when building your demons.
Usually most of these increases scale linearly so a 5 Agi increase for a demon with 50%-Speed increase is the same as 5 times the increase a demon with 10%-Speed increase would get, which is why there will not be an exhaustive list here.
