Overview

Parvati Teams are built to counter Intimidating Stance Teams, a popular team composition. Her unique passive Joy Song restores 1 MP to the whole party whenever Intimidating Stance activates, allowing you to fire off hard-hitting attacks normally unavailable T1 to overwhelm the opponent.

As with all anti-meta teams, usage fluctuates depending on tier. If you see a lot of Intimidating Stance Teams in your bracket, give this team a try!

Concept

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Strong counter to Intimidating Stance Teams. Especially effective as a defense.
  • Relatively cheap to build, can be completed using pure fuseables.
  • With proper investment, works even in very high tier PVP as a counter.

Cons:

Team

Now lets go in-depth as to how to build this Team.

Core Demons

Two demons possess the anti-IS ability: Parvati and Ganesha. These abilities can stack, meaning if you run both in your party, a single IS will restore 2 MP. For most cases though just running one of them is sufficient.

Parvati

Parvati.jpg Parvati

  • The namesake of this team, her signature Joy Song restores 1 MP every time Intimidating Stance activates.
  • Innate Auto-Sukuka increases your party's accuracy.
  • Decent Magic means she can be run as a cleanup sweeper to finish off demons with Endure.
  • Parvati is the strictly better option. You should eventually aim to fuse her if you want to run this team strat.

Skills and Brands:

  • Mind Break removes 3 MP from an enemy. This is very useful versus bulky supports like Asherah that you cannot burst down T1, as it will deny them the MP required to cast their skills, potentially giving you another turn to clean up.
  • Megido is a cheap AOE spell that she can cast T1 after Joy Song, even without Divine Brands.
  • Auto-Taruka, Auto-Rakunda and Auto-Sukunda are great options to further support your party.
  • Speedster can be used to increase battle speed.
  • Double Speed and Spell-Speed are both acceptable brand configurations. Ward brands are recommended on Defense, as Joy Song can be disabled if she is bound by Shionyan's assist.

Ganesha

Ganesha.jpg Ganesha

  • Ganesha's Faith in Wealth has a similar effect to Joy Song.
  • Compared to Parvati, he is bulkier but a lot slower, which hurts the team strat.
  • He is cheaper to fuse compared to Parvati and available a lot earlier.
  • Use him if you have not unlocked Parvati. You will eventually want to upgrade to her though.

Skills and Brands:

  • With his great bulk, he is a good Recarmdra carrier.
  • Mind Break is a cheap transfer to disable enemy supports.
  • Auto-Taruka, Auto-Rakunda and Auto-Sukunda are great options to further support your party.
  • Life brands, with Guard and Shield sub-sets are the recommended brands to increase his bulk.

Supporting Demons (Attackers)

Supporting demons that go well with Parvati have high MP costs that either cannot be achieved T1, or cannot be cast without Divines T1.

Shiva A

Shiva A.jpg Shiva A

  • Shiva A is a powerful Almighty Sweeper.
  • Third Eye is a fully unblockable Almighty attack that can also Miss and Crit. It costs 7 MP and is normally not useable T1 (outside of Panel 3), making him a great partner for Parvati.
  • Ishvara gives him a guaranteed Crit on his first attack, letting you Third Eye for massive damage.
  • He appreciates the added accuracy from Parvati's Auto-Sukuka.
  • Shiva A is the best demon for this strat, pick him if you have him!

Skills and Brands:

  • Butcher is used to increase Third Eye's damage.
  • Speedster and Epitome of Swiftness can be used to raise battle speed.
  • Great Aim can be used to patch up his accuracy if required.
  • Divine Brands are required to cast Third Eye T1. Lead brands are used to improve Turn Order, though Aim and Speed brands are acceptable sub-sets if turn order manipulation is not required.

Mastema

Mastema.jpg Mastema

  • Mastema's signature skill Trial of Hate is a powerful AOE light attack that also applies a random debuff.
    • This attack does not pierce by default though. Light Pierce (weak) is mandatory as NDR Light is common.
  • Trial of Hate costs 6 MP when maxed. With Joy Song, he can cast this T1 without Divines, letting him run Spell brands to further amp his damage.
  • With Panel 3, he will apply two random debuffs instead.
    • As he is one of the easier 4x4 fusions in the game, he is one of the more achievable P3 demons.
    • These debuffs allow your second sweeper to hit even harder.
  • He gains access to Light Amp in purple, and P1 further increases his light damage.
  • A great light sweeper, pick him if your have access to Light Pierce (weak).

Skills and Brands:

Rama

Rama.jpg Rama

Skills and Brands:

Lucifer

Lucifer.jpg Lucifer

  • Lucifer's unique Morning Star does colossal Almighty damage in exchange for having a huge 8 MP cost. He can afford this if going against Double Intimidating Stance, or if both Parvati and Ganesha is used versus Single Stance.
  • Purple is the recommended color for Butcher, which further increases his damage.
  • Panels increased his damage significantly. P3 Lucifer will have a whopping 40% extra damage added to Morning Star.
  • A great fuseable attacker for the team.

Skills and Brands:

  • Serial Killer and Berserker can be used to increase his damage.
  • Divine Brands are required to cast Morning Star T1. Speed brands are the recommended sub-set to raise battle speed.

Vairocana

Vairocana.jpg Vairocana

  • Vairocana is an Almighty Mage who has excellent buff control.
  • Path of Prominence deals respectable Almighty damage while giving your team full buffs, letting him attack and support at the same time.
    • This skill costs 7 MP when maxed, allowing you to cast it T1 with Joy Song.
    • The buffs allow your second sweeper to hit harder.
  • Purple gives him Butcher to further enhance his damage.
  • A good option for buff control.

Skills and Brands:

  • Serial Killer and Berserker can be used to increase his damage.
  • Auto skills allow him to further support his team.
  • Divine Brands are required to cast Path of Prominence T1. Speed brands are the recommended sub-set to raise battle speed.

Supporting Demons (Utility)

As Intimidating Stance teams are generally slow, Parvati Teams typically do not require too much speed control to outspeed them. The options listed below are typically used to gain enough speed to outrun mid-Range single Stance teams, while still providing much needed utility versus dedicated slow comps.

Masakado A

Masakado A.jpg Masakado A

  • Arguably one of the most meta-defining demons. Guardian of the East provides your team an additional Press Turn going first, giving you even more turns to wreck havoc.
  • Kuyo Flash does minor Almighty damage while swinging offensive buffs entirely in your favor, and can be cast T1 even without Divine brands thanks to Joy Song.
  • Speedster and Epitome of Swiftness are recommended to raise battle speed.
  • Auto-Taruka and Auto-Rakunda can be used to increase your team's damage right off the bat.
  • Double speed brands are recommended to further bump up battle speed. Focus on speed Primary for the Legs, and Speed Tertiaries for everything else.
  • Pick Masakado A if you have him. No exceptions.

Kartikeya

Kartikeya.jpg Kartikeya

  • One of the fastest demons in the game, Kartikeya is used to accelerate your battle speed.
  • His unique aura Skanda raises your whole party's Crit rate and Accuracy, both important stats if you run Shiva A. Combine this with innate Mortal Jihad (a high base crit rate skill) and high base LUK, he can reliably crit for Press Turns.
  • Comes with innate Speedster in Clear.
  • Kartikeya is a great demon to run alongside Shiva A.

Skills and Brands:

  • Phys Pierce (weak) is mandatory to avoid being walled by Tetra Shift.
  • Epitome of Swiftness can be used to raise battle speed. It's a very rare transfer skill though.
  • Savage Glee brings his already impressive Crit rate to near-guaranteed levels.
  • Auto-Taruka and Auto-Rakunda can be used to increase your team's damage right off the bat.
  • War brands are recommended to increase damage. Double speed brands can be used to bump up battle speed.

Hresvelgr

Hresvelgr.jpg Hresvelgr

  • Second fastest demon in the game after Kartikeya.
  • Innate Auto-Rakunda in Purple helps to increase your team's firepower.
  • North Wind triggers an Ice AOE whenever an opposing demon dies. This lets you add even more damage to your combo and allow you to clear Endures.
  • Bufudyne gives him a cheap spell to cast T1 (requires Panel 1 for the MP reduction). This is especially useful in PVP as Ice Weakness is rarely covered.
  • Speedster and Epitome of Swiftness are recommended to raise battle speed.
  • Ice Amp increases damage from both his skills.
  • Spell brands are recommended to increase damage. Speed brands are the recommended sub-set to raise battle speed.
  • Panel 3 increases his Battle Speed and is worth aiming for.
  • Hresvelgr is an upgrade over Garuda in every way, and a great investment for long-term PVP.

Garuda

Garuda.jpg Garuda

  • Third fastest demon in the game.
  • Innate Auto-Rakunda helps to increase your team's firepower.
  • Colors don't really matter for him. Most go with Purple for Berserker for a minor boost in damage.
  • Speedster and Epitome of Swiftness are recommended to raise battle speed.
  • Bufula L is a nice, cheap spell to exploit Ice weakness (which is usually uncovered) for Press Turns.
  • Spell brands are recommended to increase damage. Speed brands are the recommended sub-set to raise battle speed.
  • Panel 3 increases his Battle Speed and is worth aiming for.
  • Garuda is the "tried-and-true, can't-go-wrong" option.

Checks and Counters

Outslow

Orcus.jpg Orcus Gogmagog.jpg Gogmagog Hecatoncheires.jpg Hecatoncheires

  • Mainly for revenging or targeted attacks.
  • Going slower prevents them from activating Intimidating Stance, while denying them the MP needed to use their skills.

Parvati / Ganesha

Parvati.jpg Parvati Ganesha.jpg Ganesha

  • Parvati's unique Joy Song and Ganesha's Faith in Wealth provide your entire team 1 MP when Intimidating Stance activates.
  • This gives your team a burst of MP, allowing them to fire off skills normally not possible T1.
  • Heavy sweepers like Shiva A and Rama work well with this team.
