Icon Malice.png Malice is a special status effect that increases the user's damage dealt, but recreases their ability to receive healing and recover from ailments.

Mechanics

A demon affected by Malice will have the following effects applied to them for each stack.

  • Increases damage dealt by 5%.
  • Decreases healing received from healing skills by 5%.
  • Decreases auto cure rate of all ailments by 5%.

Malice can be stacked up to 5 times, for a total of 25% each of the three effects.

Malice cannot be removed by skills that would remove status Ailments, such as Prayer.

  • Malice also cannot be prevented by skills that would prevent ailments, such as Icon Barrier.png Barrier.

Malice cannot be removed by skills that would remove Good Status Effects, such as Silent Prayer.

Interaction with healing

Malice will affect the following types of HP recovery:

  • Healing skills with a power value, such as Mediara.
  • Healing skills that restore an amount based on a fraction of max HP, such as Lady of the Lake.
  • Healing skills that restore a set amount of HP, such as Starry Passion (armament skill).

Malice will not affect the following types of HP recovery:

  • Skills that restore HP based on a fraction of damage dealt (a.k.a. life-stealing skills), such as Ouas.
  • HP restored when a Drain Affinity is hit.
  • HP restored through revival.
  • HP restored through death prevention (endures), such as Enduring Soul.

Duration

Malice does not wear off over time. It will be removed when the affected demon dies.
