In Dx2 Battle Tournaments, you fight in a round-robin format during the placement matches and rounds, after which a tournament format will be used in representative tourneys in order to determine the champion.

Mechanics

Battle System Changes

Dx2 Battle Tournament has its own battle system. The most important new rules are:

  • Press Turn Icons cannot be increased or decreased.
  • Parties going first start with 1 MP, and going second start with 3 MP.
  • You must have 5 demons in each party, with 15 total for all 3 waves.
  • Due to the multiwave nature of Tournaments, the player with the most won waves wins.
    • If the number of waves won is the same, the winner will be determined depending on the damage dealt to the opponent.

Challenges

Challenges are unlocked from the entry period of Round 2 onwards. You can pit your party against parties of other event participants, with opponents selected from a block in an area that you are not assigned to. If you change your party when using Challenge, it will not change the party you have entered into the Tournament, so you can customize your party to suit your specific opponent. Wins/Losses Challenges will not affect your results in Dx2 Battle Tournament, and are purely there for missions and to have fun.

Basic Tips

Teambuilding

A 3-wave party ready to challenge an opponent

Demons with Press Turn Retention and Bonus Turn Denial are incredibly powerful here as Press Turns cannot be increased/decreased here

Demon Rentals

Demon Rentals allow you to use certain premade Demons to fill your parties for both the main Tournament Rounds and Challenges. This is good for newbies who usually do not have enough properly built demons to fill all slots. You cannot change the brands, archetype, or transferable skills of rental demons, nor can you perform infusions on them.

One wave can have a maximum of 4 rental demons added to it.
