Hi

  • Favorite Team so far: Ailment
  • Favorite demon (Dx2): Pales
  • Favorite demon (every game): ???
  • Favorite character (Dx2): Megakin
  • Favorite character (every game): ???
  • Favorite waifu (Dx2): Rika
  • Favorite waifu (every game): Pixie (SMT III)
  • Games played: Shin Megami Tensei I, Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2, Shin Megami Tensei III[1]
  • Games I'm planning to play: Raido-o Kuzunoha saga, Persona saga (presumably starting with "Persona 2: Innocent Sin" or "Persona 3"), Shin Megami Tensei II, Shin Megami Tensei IV (both), Shin Megami Tensei V
  • What I have to say:
    • Why is Mothman a meme?
    • Jack Frost was nice, then he got more avatars than Shiva.
    • That of Alice and the Counts is the best part of SMT I... if not the only beautiful one.
    • Trixie must be summonable in a game sooner or later.
    • This game has too many banner exclusives!!! Like, half of them could just be gatcha-only!
    • The moment Raido-o Kuzunoha is added in the game, I'll lose a lot of money.
    • I'll never understand why the player's nickname has been changed from 'Rookie' to 'Newbie'. The former was nicer.

Personal Draft about 3★-and-less Demons

(The following is just to have fun or for personal use and is not to be intended as an official guide on the Wiki)

Everyone has that 1/2/3★ demon they have a fondness for, thus desiring to bring them up to 5★ or even 6★. The following is a "guide" intended to help people identify each demon's strengths, weaknesses and best colors, other than the role and the use they might have. It also helps identifying those demons which are actually worth evolving.

Now, those are the reasons you might want to invest in one of those demons:

  • You actually very like the demon. Or it's meme.
  • The demon can be actually useful.
  • They are cheaper to invest in comparing to 4★ and 5★ demons, especially regarding skill points (you can just use copies of the same demon rather than wasting Yasake Magatamas). Unfortunately, the investment for Evolution is unvaried (or even more expensive, in a certain sense).

The Tiers are as following: T: This demon is trash. No reason you should invest in them; actually, they might end up dissatisfying you even if you like them.

1: Useless demons, but not as dissatisfying. They can still have some use for fun.

2: Weak demons which are more likely to do some job in a team, usually due to good stats or skills. They are still useless compared to 4★.

3: Demons with a nice, usually thanks to the good combination of stats and/or good skills. They are of some use in given contexts, and might even make for early cheap PvP teams. They are the equivalent of 2-Tier demons in the normal list.

4: Demons that are actually useful, at least in given contexts. They are nice for early/mid PvE content, and might even make for early cheap PvP teams. It's always better to keep at least one of those demons. They are equivalent of 2-Tier demons of high use/3-Tier demons in the normal list

5: Actually useful demons, who make easier a lot of PvE content. They are not particularly better at PvP than 4-Tier demons, though. They are the equivalent of 3-Tier demons... or even 4-Tiers, in particular, specific cases.

HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Attack
1206 178 493 645 564 600 105 140
Pros
  • Good HP and Vitality helping its survivability.
  • Acceptable MATK for a 1★.
Cons
  • 2 weaknesses, both very bad ones for PvE
  • Very low Agi.
  • No good skills other than Zio.
Suggestions
  • The best use you can do of it is probably running him as a Healer-Supporter that can occasionally exploit Elec weaknesses with Zio. Transfer it Diarama and a support skill, likewise Tarunda or Rakukaja (or Samrecarm).
  • If you use Spell Slots to cover even one of its weaknesses it will be completely useless, so don't. Just don't use him in stages where enemies use Ice and Dark skills.
Notes
  • Technically, its best color would be Teal, but only Clear and maybe Red (if it is given for Eclipse events) are available.

HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Heal
1028 140 510 687 527 569 115 140
Pros
  • Decent MAG for a 1★.
  • Discounted Diara in Clear or Bufula in Red are both good skills.
Cons
  • Weak to Fire, and most weak-to-Ice units are Fire users.
  • Low Agi
Suggestions
  • Her MATK is low, but high enough to still do a nice job as a mage. Plus her awakening skills are pretty versatile, giving her good flexibility.
  • You can choose to run a Mage-Healer in Clear or a full Mage in Red. If Clear you might still want to give her Bufula from Forneus, while Mabufula is not recommended as she still won't do a lot of damage.
  • Resist Fire is mandatory. Other good transfers are Samrecarm, Mediara or -kaja/-nda skills (which one depends if you want to run an offensive or defensive build). If you run a full Mage in Red give her Ice Boost instead.

HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Heal
896 112 565 603 509 518 147 137
Pros
  • Discounted Ice Breath in Clear is niche
  • Agi is good enough to allow him (her? them) to be a Cleric
Cons
  • Weak to Elec
  • Discounted Ice Breath is a wasted skill, because of their sub-optimal MAG and their role as a Support
    • Which is destroyed by their low Vit
    • Which relies completely on transfers
    • Which is limited to a "-kaja/-nda"/"Samrecarm" fodder
  • Heal AI but no healing skills like what the hell
    • To be fair that's probably to prioritize Paraladi, but AI is already supposed to that
Suggestions
  • Just go for the basic kit (Samrecarm+Heals/Buffs/Debuffs). Consider giving them Life Brands, because their survivability is hindered by their low Vit, and you need them to die after using Samrecarm. Obviously you can also go full Buff-Debuff if you think Samrecarm would be useless on them.
  • You might still want to take advantage of the discounted Ice Breath and to run them as a full Mage against specific bosses. In this case, transfer Ice Boost and another support skill (likely Tarukaja or Rakunda). Consider that they are still a sidekick, though: do not build your entire strategy around him.

6★ Stats AI
HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Attack
1169 170 745 624 616 587 81 70
Pros
  • Very good PATK, especially for a 1★!
  • Also good Vit, granting survivality even when going second.
  • Null to Dark!
  • Innate Lunge, a skill with boosted Crit Chance plus increased Hit Rate when levelled up, making up for his low Luck.
  • Loves both girls and boys: that's how you do proper representation.
Cons
  • Abysmal Agi and Luck, meaning he will miss a lot, be hit a lot, be critted on a lot, and let's not even mention Ailments.
  • Weak to Elec.
  • No significative skills except Lunge, meaning the only thing he can do is hitting (and he is bad at that, too).
    • Lunge is not as good as Cleave, since it doesn't gain Damage through level up.
Suggestions
  • One of the best 1★ demons for low-rarity teams due to his PATK and Null, but has a LOOOT of accuracy issues. The best skills to transfer are Good Aim, Bloody Glee, Cleave and Phys Boost.
  • Bloody Glee+Phys Boost is a good combination if you want to try having a Phys attacker that occasionally crits giving you more turns. You can make up for Good Aim's absence by using Aim Brands; wether to apply War+Aim or double Aim is up to you.
  • If you want to run him with Cleave, both Good Aim and Phys Boost are good options.
  • Discounted Heat Wave in Red isn't a good choice because AOE Skill+bad accuracy enhances the possibility to miss. Purple's Hellish Mask is a better option.
Notes
  • Compared to Eligor, Bicorn has higher Agi and MATK (useful for exploiting Fire weaknesses), while Eligor has higher Vit, PATK, Hit ratio, DEF and Phys Resistance. But Eligor is also a white cisgender alpha male while Bicorn is a friendly bisexual black horse so make your choice.

Pros
  • High Vit.
  • Agi is high enough to make for a good Support.
  • Sonichu meme.
Cons
  • Abysmal MATK that makes its kit of offensive spells completely useless (even the discounted Shock).
  • Completely relies on transfers to do anything.
Suggestions
  • Transfer it Samrecarm and a "-kaja"/"-nda" spell. Give HP Brands with Guard/Shield subset.
  • Do not transfer Healing skills, as its Mag is too low to properly heal.
  • If you need it to act earlier, you can instead give it Lead or Speed subset, depending on what you need.
Notes
  • Technically the best color would be Yellow, but only Clear and maybe Red (in case it's given for Eclipse events) are available.
  • Multi-fuse with Melchom and Slime to summon Chupacabra.

HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Attack
821 96 588 550 497 488 170 161
Pros
  • Good Agi and decent Luck meaning it works well as a cheap Evasion Tank, even for early PvP.
  • Stealth is a very good Unique which gives Endure and a passive bonus of +20% to Evasion when triggered. This bonus stacks with those provided by skills.
  • Cheapest demon with an "Auto-" skill, in this case Auto-Sukuka, which further supports its role as an Evasion Tank.
  • Due to its Luck, can even work as an Ailment inflicter.
Cons
  • Weak to Elec (and no Resistances).
  • Completely useless against any enemy with skills that don't miss, due to the low Vit.
  • Stealth's Endure effect must be triggered for the +20% Evade bonus to also be activated.
  • Endure-like skills aren't very reliable in PvP anymore due to Mortal effects or even skills that just ignore them.
    • Plus, Yoshitsune is used a lot in low-rank PvP, and his Unique Hassou Tobi is a Random attack with very high Hit Rate, which will also vanify your Endure-like effect if it hits you more than once (which is highly possile).
Suggestions
  • It's obviously best against Phys Teams, especially demons with low Accuracy like Gogmagog or Zaou-Gongen. Double Dodge Brands are the best choice, but you cans also mix Speed and Dodge if you need to.
  • Using a Skill Slot to cover its weakness will greatly impact on its utility, and since it will be mostly used for targeted battles anyway, it's better not to.
  • You can give it Endure/Enduring Soul to provide more survivability (since Endure-like effects stack).
  • Other good skills are Sukunda/Acid Breath, Dodge or Mahamakajam. Giving it both Endure and Dodge means that it will mostly play a passive role.
  • To run it in an Ailment Team, give it Speedster and Mahamakajam. You might be forced to give it Ailment Brands if you lack ways to inflict Weak to the enemy party.
  • You can also run it in slow teams due to the utility of Auto-Sukuka. In this case, keep it Level 1 and give it Dodge, Endure and/or a Buff/Debuff skill as you see more fitting, considering it will probably die before its turn arrives. Technically, the best transfers to give it in this case are other "Auto-" skills, but are they really worth being spent on a 1★ demon with just occasional use?
  • A different tactic for an Evasion Tank Chupacabra, especially in Defense Teams, is to give it Enduring Soul+Recarmdra and full Dodge Brands; but again, Recarmdra is a rare spell and one among the most useful, so same as above.
Notes
  • Bring it respect guys. This one is one of the "old glories", used a lot as an Evasion Tank/Support in the early days.
  • Also cheer to the numerous Bronze Defense Teams that use one, single Chupacabra and literally no other demon. And no, I'm not only talking about inactive accounts.

HP Vit PATK MATK PDEF MDEF Agi Lu Support
896 112 663 565 532 509 147 112
Pros
  • 1 Null and no weaknesses!
  • Innate Support AI meaning you don't have to waste an AI Tendency Selector on it.
  • Agi is high enough to work as a Cleric.
  • Discounted Amrita in Clear means you'll be able to heal a demon from ailments each time you reach Cu Sith's turn.
  • Good doggo.
Cons
  • Innate skills are useless to support a build as a Cleric.
  • Despite having passable PATK for a 1★ demon, Cleave is not as useful as its magic counterparts.
  • Low Luck means it has low resistance to ailments (which is bad since it is supposed to be a Cleric).
  • Amrita can heal only one demon each use; unless you don't know what ailments you're going against or have problems in bringing more than one AOE "-di" Skill in your team, it's usually a worse option than the latter.
Suggestions
  • Transfer Hellish Mask to lower the chance of it getting hit by ailments and consequently heal your party (one by one).
  • HP Brands increase its survivability, while Speed or Lead Brands as a subset help it having a better placement in the team. Concentrate on Ailment Resistance% as the secondary stat to boost.
    • Assuming you need neither Speed nor Lead, Aim can assist in making Cleave more reliable.
  • Samrecarm or a Buff/Debuff (likely Tarukaja, Sukukaja or Sukunda) are both good options for the second Skill Slot.
  • For a more aggressive build, give it War and Aim brands and transfer Sukukaja.
  • If you don't care about Ailment Resistance, you can give it a second Samrecarm/Buff/Debuff skill or Good Aim instead of Hellish Mask.
Notes
  • Technically, Yellow would also be a good (if not better) color for it, but the only available colors are Clear and maybe Red (assuming it's given for Eclipse - which is actually happened in the past).
  • Main source of Cleave!

Pros
  • High PATK/Strength for a 1★ demon.
  • High Vit, and not only for a 1★!
  • 1 Null!
  • Phys resistance further supporting his role as a tank.
  • Discounted Fatal Sword in Red.
Cons
  • Low Luck and abysmal Agi means that he will miss a LOT.
    • It also means that he will be critted upon often, which weakens his role as a Tank.
  • Weak to Elec.
  • No innate single-target Phys skill except in Red.
  • His basic skills are wasted on him.
Suggestions
  • One of the best 1★ demons for low-rarity teams due to his PATK, Vit and Null, but has a LOOOT of accuracy issues. However, he's a step forward than Bicorn, since he can double as a Tank.
  • Not having any innate Physical single-target, Red archetype is almost mandatory (and the best onr regardless).
  • Counter/Retaliate is a good transfer which takes advantage of his good bulk and the fact he will be hit often.
  • Wild Guess lowers the chance of receiving crit damage, while Good Aim improves his accuracy.
  • For a completely offensive build, Good Aim+Phys Boost and War+Aim brands will do the trick.
  • For a completely defensive build, run Counter/Retaliate+Wild Guess and HP+Guard Brands.
  • Transfering Resist Elec is not a bad option if you need it.
  • A hybrid build should be Red with any of the above combinations, depending on how much you want to prioritize offense over defense or vice versa. For example, you can go Counter/Retaliate+Good Aim and run War+Aim brands. Aim Brands as a subset must be the only constant.
  • You can also use Yellow and forget offensive skills entirely, although this isn't suggested. In this case, you can go for the defensive build, or build him as a Support Tank (Samrecarm+"-kaja"/"-nda" Skill; Life+Guard/Shield; Resist Elec can subsitute any skill).
