Overview

Essence of Sin

Sin Infusion is similar to Mitama Infusion, except that it's much simpler.

  • Sin Infusion is available on the Mitama menu.
  • To perform a Sin Infusion, it's necessary to gather Essence of Sin, a material obtained as reward for playing Tokyo Abyss monthly quest.
  • There is only one kind of Essence of Sin, which can be applied to increase any basic stat of a Demon (Strength, Magic, Vitality, Agility, Luck).
  • A Demon must be awakened to receive a Sin Infusion.

The maximum Infusions a Demon may receive depends on its grade:

Demon Grade Maximum Infusions
1★ 240
2★ 240
3★ 160
4★ 80
5★ 80

Tokyo Abyss

A quest area created in 2021, accessed through the Alter-World menu on the Map.

  • It's composed of 60 floors, each one with enemies stronger and more difficult to fight and beat than the previous one.
  • The mechanics are somewhat similar to an Aura Gate.
  • The deepest floor the player can reach is recorded and awarded.
  • There's no limit to how many times it's played (there are no Action Points or Stamina depletion in the Tokyo Abyss).
  • Each month, the Tokyo Abyss is reset, so it may be played for the rewards again.
  • The game is played solo, without access to the Demons the player has collected.
  • The player has to choose Armaments to run the Tokyo Abyss, similar to other Alter-World quests.
    • Although the Demons collected in the Tokyo Abyss are important for the battles, a good set of Armaments is essential to go farther, so enhance them as much as possible.
    • Some bonuses from other Shields the player has are added to its Armament stats, so getting better Armaments, as well as enhancing unused ones, is also important.
  • The Teams are composed by the player's character, plus one to three Demons.
  • Before entering the first floor, the player has to choose a Demon from a small selection offered by the game, which are independent of the Demons the player has in its collection.
  • Like the player's character, the first Demon start at Lv. 1.
  • Character and Demons revolve automatically as they are enhanced, till reaching Lv. 50.
    • It's not necessary to sacrifice Demons of the same ★ evolution for it to go to the next rank.
    • The character doesn't need to Limit Break to reach Lv. 50.
  • Demons may be replaced along the quest as new ones are obtained through Talking.
  • Demons may be fused or conjuncted with specific ones found in the Tokyo Abyss.
    • Fusion follows the regular rules for restrictions and resulting Demons.
    • Conjunction follows the regular restrictions for fusion, but the results have chances to produce different Demons, including rare Gacha Demons. For that reason, Conjunctions are, usually, the most important places in the Tokyo Abyss, as they can yield Demons strong enough to advance.
  • Each floor has a fixed map configuration, with fixed encounters (battles, fusion joints etc.), which may be reset on the next monthly season.
  • What happens in the Tokyo Abyss, stays in the Tokyo Abyss, that is, Demons obtained in the game are not added to the player's general collection.
  • The player gains Souls of the Demon species of the last Team it had at the end of the monthly season.
  • Demons and player's character gain experience through battles. Usually, each battle is enough to enhance all Demons at least one level up.
  • All battles reward:
    • Extra Stat enhancements for the player's character.
    • Special bonuses for all the party members (e.g., +8% Ice Damage dealt, -5% Almighty Damage received, Phys Pierce, -25% chance of Status Ailments).
    • One transferable Skill for the Demons.
  • Skills cannot be transferred from a Demon to another.
  • Items cannot be used, either during battle or outside.
  • Skills cannot be levelled up (the game doesn't allow transferring a Skill to a Demon that already have it).
  • Demons cannot be Infused with either Mitama or Essence of Sin.
  • Demons cannot be Branded.
  • Fusion, Conjunction and Talking may yield enhanced Demons.
  • Fusion and Conjunction preserve Skills acquired by the Demons. On the other hand, because Talking effectively replaces Demons, any Skills collected by Demons replaced by Talking are lost. Because of that, Talking is usually less important than Conjunctions, and even Fusions.
  • There are some Healing joints spread in the game, but
  • Because Tokyo Abyss quests are similar to an Aura Gate, it's very useful to have at least one Demon with a healing Skill (innate or transferred), as the Demons and characters don't heal/resurrect after battle.
  • On deeper floors, Status Ailments start becoming more common, so it's worth investing in Luck, Status Cleansing, and Status Resistances or Immunity since earlier floors.
  • Resurrection Skills are very important in deeper floors, but, because it plays like an Aura Gate, avoid Recarmdra.

At any time, the game allows going back to the Tokyo Abyss' title screen to reset it and start a new run (the acquired Demons and progress are discarded and the player is sent back to the 1st floor). It's not necessary to get stuck in a battle to reset, some times the built Team is so lousy (mainly due to Conjunction RNG) that it's not worth continuing.
