Pros
  • Power-Hungry Sou provides him with Fire and Dark Pierce, a 50% boost to his Max HP, a 1-count removal of Spirit Chains of Intimidation and Indignation effect, and lets his team start the battle with 1 count of Fortify. Three times per turn, he will allow his team to use their skills without consuming a Press Turn Icon while they have at least 1 count of Fortify applied on themselves. To cement himself as a staple on any Magic-based team, he offers 35% Magic reverse damage reduction while he is alive.
  • His Order Crest: Chaos applies 3 counts of Decay and Rakunda+ on all enemies, followed by 4 25BP hits of Dark Magic damage on all enemies. This will fire off at the start of his own team's turn and whenever he uses his actives three times.
    • This Decay effect neutralizes a T2 Nuwa and Heroine team as they will add 3 counts of Fortify when a T1 Chaos Hero's turn starts. Because it's Dark damage, it can lead to activating Metatron M's Sinister Malice, allowing for faster PvE wave clears or to employ a semi-T0 PvP strategy.
  • Has the Demon Buddy system, which allows him to swap between two different Elemental attacks on the go:
    • Summon: Quetzalcoatl does a Magic-based 120BP Fire attack that applies 2 counts of Corrosion and removes 3 counts of Malice on one enemy, then proceeds to hit the same enemy again with a 200BP hit while restoring 2MP and applying 1 count of Fortify to Chaos Hero. The MP recovery is wonderful for offsetting the MP cost of this skill so that reaching the MP required for his second active is more feasible, and keeping his Fortify active so that he benefits from his Press Turn retention effect.
    • Has the hardest hitting AOE nuke in the game with his second active, being Summon Daisoujou, with a 50 BP AOE starter that applies 2 counts of Corrosion, removes 3 counts of Malice and casts Rakunda+ after which he deletes the enemies with a 300 BASE POWER AOE ATTACK.
    • Despite the high cost of Daisoujou, it can be lowered to just 8 MP through P1 and maxing its skill levels and is made easier to activate due to Quetzalcoatl's MP refund and given the proper MP battery teammate support. With the right support, he can use it on his second or even first turn to act.
  • His kit makes him a giant middle finger to Vanitas given his ludicrous reverse damage reduction to Magic just for existing, and all of his skills removing Malice. No Vanitas is tanky enough to take this much punishment, especially with an allied Hakumen no Mono.
    • He also exists as the perfect neutralizer to Inanna, as he not only removes her innate Magic damage reduction but will also allow his teammates to ignore her bonus turn denial aura.
  • Each of his awakening skills offers benefits that can be used for whatever your team needs: Black Flame's Gleam in red offers a 30% boost to his Fire and Dark damage, Auto-Rakunda+ in yellow neutralizes Heroine's Rakukaja+, Epitome of Madness+ in purple increases the chance of Curse landing and increases his evasion rate, and Indomitable Spirit in teal works as a midrange tool that provides a 200 HP endure and an on-death Fire or Dark attack that lowers the enemy with the highest current HP's MP by 1.
  • Great set of panels that offer various types of benefits: P1 gives Null Charm, a 15% boost to his Magic damage, and a 1 MP decrease to the cost of his active skills. P2 offers Null Bind and Null Mute, perfect for countering Raidou Kuzunoha & Gouto and Hayataro, and also employing a +20% damage team-wide aura effect. P3 offers the predictable 20% boost to his Max HP and Magic damage.
Cons
  • Susceptible to all ailments if not paneled, which is troublesome given the high usage rates of Raidou & Hayataro.
  • A tad slow, having only 20% innate Battle Speed boosters (40% if panel 3). Consider transferring Speedster to him so he can keep up with his faster teammates, as if he is out-sped he will die.
  • Summon Daisoujou is MP hungry, with a 10 MP cost. This means that MP acceleration is almost mandatory T1 and that demons that increase MP costs like Hakumen no Mono, as well as MP drainers are a big problem if you want to vaporize your enemies. Consider pairing him with MP accelerators like Hayataro and Lucifer Frost.
    • Despite this attack doing gargantuan levels of damage, it is likely that all enemies will still survive it, as it doesn't bypass endure, and every meta-relevant unit comes with at least one built-in endure effect.
