Pros
  • Princess of the Dragon Palace removes all enemy Bulwarks at the start of her team’s turn, places her in a state of Concentrate, and lowers the Ice/Elec Affinities of all enemies by 2 levels.
  • She grants her team a 10% damage boost aura, which jumps to a 50% boost for Concentrated damage. When she strikes a weak point, her Concentrated damage will be further amplified by her innate Wretched Blow to a staggering +80%.
  • Her Order Crest: Ocean Palace will fire off a 150BP Ice/Elec AoE on all enemies while inflicting Bind. This will proc any time a party member generates a Press Turn, and every other time it becomes an ally’s turn to act.
    • This makes her a mandatory Ice/Elec prelim unit as she not only does enormous amounts of damage, but also propels her team members (i.e. Queen Mab, Inanna).
  • If she is used in any Brands of Sin 14, she increases the naturally recovered MP of her party by 2 and offers a 30% reverse damage reduction aura for AoE and random target skills.
  • Spindrift of Foamy Lightning does a 180BP Ice/Elec AoE that reapplies Concentrate on herself and grants a Press Turn Icon. This will then cause her Order Crest to proc, making for a 330BP AoE.
  • Icicle Vortex in Red is a single-target option for Democ Boss or for Avarice 14. Otohime Aid in Yellow boosts Magic damage for her party by 15%, perfect for Prelim.
  • P1 boosts Ice/Elec damage by 15% (which jums to 45% in P3) and reduces the cost of her active by 1 MP. P2 is the highlight as it casts Tarukaja+ at the start of her team’s turn and boosts her team’s damage by 15%.
Cons
  • Her active does not have Remnants.
  • Lack of innate HP boosters makes her very frail.
  • No use in PvP for the above reasons, including bad speed and having her Chain Effect shut down by Spirit Chains of Suppression.
  • Not as good as a generalist Democ option like Lamia, as she requires PT gens to proc her Crest and not weak point hits.
  • Her +2 to MP recovery aura and RDR really did not need to be locked behind a Brands of Sin effect.
    • Even then, this is only really good for Vanity 14.

Official Profile

The lord of Ryūgū-jō, the Dragon Palace that appears in the tale of Urashima Tarō. In the story, this figure appears as a beautiful maiden, but it is likely a dragon transformed into human form. However, in the original sources, Otohime is actually a celestial maiden who had transformed into the five-colored turtle itself, and Ryūgū is described not as an undersea realm but as a palace built on an island offshore.
