Official Profile
When Jesus was crucified at Golgotha, Longinus pierced his side with a lance to confirm his death. Though a Roman Centurion, he was said to be blind. But when the blood of Jesus fell upon him, Longinus was healed. He converted to Christianity afterward, and he was eventually canonized as a saint. Because his lance was touched by the blood of Jesus, it is considered a holy relic.
