Official Profile
An underworld deity appearing in Egyptian mythology. He is the chief god of death and eldest brother of the four pillar gods born between Geb and Nut. He is also the father of Horus, as well as the brother and husband of Isis. He was once known as a god of vegetation and agriculture, and succeeded the sun god Ra, becoming the final god to rule over the land. However, he was betrayed and murdered by his younger brother Seth. After being revived by Isis, he became king of the underworld. His believers thought that Osiris's just rule would bring eternal splendor in the afterlife and therefore worshiped him as a righteous god.
