Official Profile
The name of the hero in the German epic poem Nibelungenlied. He became invincible but for a spot on his back when he was bathed in the blood of a legendary dragon he slayed. In exchange for his sister's hand in marriage, the king of Burgundy asked Siegfried to help him trick Brunnhilde, the queen of Iceland, to marry him. Though successful, when Brunnhilde found out about the deception years later, she killed Siegfried out of spite.
