A water fairy from Arthurian lore who takes the form of a beautiful woman, and is known as the Lady of the Lake. She is the guardian spirit of Lancelot, a knight of the Round Table, and lives together with several knights and servants in her palace under the illusionary lake. When King Arthur's sword broke in his battle against King Pellinore, Vivian granted him the holy sword Excalibur.
