A goddess appearing in Chinese Mythology. She is depicted with a human head and a snake body, and is said to have created humanity.
She is one of the Three Sovereigns, and is said to be either the wife or sibling of Fuxi, another of the Three Sovereigns. When the four pillars supporting the world collapsed, Nuwa is said to have repaired them. She is also said to be the creator of humanity, having made humans out of mud.
