The most powerful and vile yokai, birthed from dark energy. After appearing thousands of years ago, he rampaged across India, China, and Japan, leaving nothing but destruction in his wake. 800 years ago, he was defeated by an alliance of yokai and shamans and fled into the Kaname-Ishi, a stone said to hold up all of Japan. It was there the Oyakume of the Kohamei Sect sealed him away. He boasts enormous strength; a single swing of his tails can lay low any yokai, and his flame breath is hot enough to burn all to ash. What's more, Hakumen's nine tails act as avatars of him, giving Ushio and the others no shortage of trouble. He was brought into existence by an Aura Gate in response to the demon Kali's desire to fight someone supremely strong and worth killing.
