The Roman goddess of luck. She is said to control the Wheel of Fortune, and has a hand in unforeseen strokes of good and bad luck. Originally, she was a goddess that brought fertility to livestock, as well as abundant grain harvests. Fortuna’s counterpart in Greek mythology is the goddess Tyche, who similarly rules over chance and fortune.
