A goddess in Sumer Mythology presiding over love, beauty, war, and good harvests.
Her name means "Queen of Heaven." She was thought to be one and the same as the harvest goddess Ishtar, as well as Aphrodite and Venus, and was worshipped by many.
She was also known as a goddess who drove off foreign invaders an it is said her power was great enough to send even male gods running.
