Official Profile
One of the four major archangels in the angel hierarchy. The angel who gave the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary,Gabriel's name comes from the Sumerian word for "governor". Though most angels are depicted as being androgynous,Gabriel is sometimes considered to be female due to depictions of her with features resembling those of a young girl.
