Anti-damage boost (ADB), also known as reverse damage boost (RDB) (no official name), refers to effects that apply a negative amount of damage boost, causing the affected demon to deal less damage. This is not the same as damage reduction, which works on the target's end and is much more potent.

Mechanics
Anti-damage boost is applied to the same part of the formula that normal damage boosts are. For more details, see Damage Formula.
- Due to this, anti-damage boost directly counteracts normal damage boosts.
- For example: if a demon has a total of +90% damage boosts (from passive skills such as Fire Amp, skill levels, panels, aura, etc), and they face a party that has Cleopatra (applies -60% damage dealt), then that partially cancels the demon's damage boosts (90 - 60). This results in a total of +30% damage boosts instead.
Skills that apply anti-damage boost are usually phrased as affecting the damage the enemy deals, rather than the amount of damage your party takes/receives. For effects that decrease the damage your party receives (and in a much-more-potent way), see damage reduction.
