Stat Buffs and Debuffs

Some skills have the ability to increase or decrease the ATK, DEF, and EV/AC of party members and enemies. An effect that increases a stat is called a stat buff, while an effect that decreases a stat is called a stat debuff. While party members or enemies are affected by stat buffs/debuffs, icons showing the stats that have been buffed/debuffed and the duration of effects will appear on the left side of the screen. The counter for the remaining turns of a stat buff/debuff advances at the start of the casting demon's next turn. For example, if a party member casts a 1-turn stat buff/debuff, the effect wears off at the start of the caster's next turn. If a demon is hit with a stat debuff while under the effects of a stat buff, rather than entering a debuffed state, the stat buff is simply removed. This also applies vice versa. Stat buffs/debuffs cannot be removed with skills that remove status ailments. They can, however, be removed by skills that remove stat buffs/debuffs.

Some skills power up based on the number of times a stat buff/debuff is used. Stat buffs/debuffs are counted when activated by not only active skills, but also by passive skills' Chain Effects or Spirit effect. Skills like Luster Candy, which buff/debuff multiple stats at once, are counted as 1 stat buff/debuff.

Stat Buffs+ and Debuffs+

Stat Buffs+ and Debuffs+ are represented as Tarukaja+, Rakukaja+, Sukukaja+, and Tarunda+, Rakunda+, and Sukunda+ respectively. The reinforcement value for Stat Buffs and Debuffs is 20%. The reinforcement value for Stat Buffs+ and Debuffs+ is 25%. If a Debuffs+ effect is applied while in the Stat Buffs+ state, the Debuffs+ effect is not applied, but the Stat Buffs+ state is removed. The opposite works in the same way.

Relationship between Stat Buffs+/Debuffs+ and regular Stat Buffs/Debuffs

If a Buffs effect is received while in the Buffs+ state, the Buffs+ state is canceled and the Stat Buffs state is entered. The opposite works in the same way. Activating a Stat Buffs effect in the Stat Buffs state does not put you in the Stat Buffs+ state, and vice versa.
